Gothic Theatre

The Gothic Theatre is the portal to the best live concerts and entertainment in South Denver. 

The building was originally constructed in the 1920s in the grand art deco style of the era. In the 1940s, the front was altered to make it more modern, and finally, the historic interior was renovated in 1998, keeping its chic historical aesthetic.  

The Gothic Theatre is known for its Red Rocks afterparties and is a popular music venue for heavy and alternative music from local and national performers.

From Native Roots, take Sante Fe Drive for 0.6 miles. Then, take a left onto W Dartmouth Avenue, and a right onto South Broadway where your destination will be two blocks down on the right.

Ruby Hill Park features a community garden, free concerts at Levitt Pavillion, a mountain biking park, as well as volleyball and basketball courts. 

In the winter, the Ruby Hill Rail Yard is an urban-terrain snow park that’s free to the public. Open for snowboarders and skiers with free rental gear, the collaborative effort made by Denver Parks and Recreation, Winter Park Resort, and Christy Sports offers varying configurations and skill levels, including beginner-friendly boxes and rails. 

Ruby Hill Park is a quick five-minute drive from the nearby Native Roots dispensary in South Denver. From Native Roots, take S Galapago Street to S Platte River Dr and take a right. Then, turn right onto Harvard Avenue and then left, back onto S Galapago Street. 

Drive until W Evans Avenue and turn left. Then, turn right onto S Platte River Drive until W Jewel Avenue and turn left. Follow the signs to enter the park on the right. 

Grant Frontiere Park 

This park features reconstructed and historical artifacts from the first settlement in the Denver area, which is named the Montana City Settlement of 1858. 

The Grant Frontiere was named in honor of the students and teachers from the Grant Junior High School who discovered, excavated, and researched the site.

The Grant Frontiere Park has bike paths, trails, picnic areas, and a playground making it a great option for a relaxing kid-friendly outdoor environment and a quiet retreat from city life. 

The Native Roots dispensary near Grant Frontiere Park is less than five minutes away. Drive south on Sante Fe Drive and take a right onto W Dartmouth Avenue. 

Then, take a right onto Platte River Drive, which runs parallel to the South Platte River. Drive for about two minutes and follow signs to enter the park on the right. 

Harvard Gulch Park 

This large park is an amazing place for South Denver residents to enjoy relaxation and recreation outdoors and it’s less than 10 minutes from our Native Roots location. 

Highlighted by a cozy 9-hole golf course, Harvard Gulch Park features community gardens, trails, grassy areas, athletic fields, a recreation center with regular workshops, and a heated outdoor pool and kid-friendly play area.

Driving directions from the Native Roots marijuana dispensary near Harvard Gulch Park is easy. Take Sante Fe Drive south to W Dartmouth Avenue. 

Then, take a left to go north on S Broadway, and then a right turn onto W Iliff Avenue. Drive three blocks and follow signs to enter the park on the right at the Recreation Center after Logan Street.
