Denver Museum of Nature & Science

Everyone will love the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. Featuring scientific exhibitions, films, programs, and events based on immersive education, the DMNS is a playground for all things nature and science.

Officially opened in 1908 under the name of the Colorado Museum of Natural History, the museum changed its name to the Denver Museum of Nature & Science after celebrating its 100-year birthday.

The museum hosts a total of 89 world-famous wildlife dioramas meticulously crafted by hand, a planetarium, an IMAX infinity theater, and multiple modern and technologically advanced wings such as the Morgridge Family Exploration Center. 

The museum is a functional research facility and is responsible for preserving the Avenir Collections Center, which features two underground levels not open to the general public. Interestingly, only 1% of the museum’s 4.3 million artifacts and specimens are on display. 

The Denver Museum of Nature & Science is only a fifteen-minute drive away from our Native Roots Marijuana Dispensary on Colorado Blvd. The most direct route takes you north on Colorado Blvd towards City Park. Turn left at Montview Blvd and follow signs for the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. 

Denver Botanic Gardens

The Denver Botanic Gardens is a rich cultural center offering public, private, member, and free events to the community. 

Along with regular special events and exhibitions, the Denver Botanic Gardens also offers educational programs to adults, children, families, and teachers. 

The Botanic Gardens is also a place of horticulture and biodiversity research working to preserve rare and endangered plant species. 

The Denver Botanic Gardens is easy to get to and only ten minutes away from Native Roots. The most direct route follows Colorado Blvd north to E 8th Avenue where you turn left, then right onto Josephine Street. Follow the signs for Denver Botanic Gardens on your right-hand side.   

Best Dispensary Nearby Washington Park 

The Native Roots Colorado Blvd location is a quick 5-minute drive to Washington Park. Dubbed “Wash Park” by locals, this massive greenspace is the perfect place for joggers, runners, cyclists, and other Denverites looking to get outdoors. 

The Washington Park area is largely residential, but you will find amazing eateries, shopping, boutique fashion, galleries, sports bars, and bistros east of the park on Old South Gaylord Street. 

The park area features formal flower gardens, winding wooded trails, and modern sports facilities including tennis courts and basketball courts. It’s easy to get to Washington Park from our dispensary on Colorado Blvd. From Native Roots, take Mississippi Avenue west until you reach Washington Park.

Native Roots is only fifteen minutes away from the Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum. The easiest way to get there from Native Roots is to take Louisiana Avenue east, then take a left to head north on S Holy Street. 

Drive until E Alameda Avenue and go right, then turn left onto E Fairmount Drive. Finally, take a right onto E Academy Parkway and the museum will be on the left.
